Roselle Catholic dominated Patrick School on January 29 in a great performance on both sides of the ball.
The Lions got off to a huge 19-9 start in the first quarter, extending their lead to 39-21 by halftime. Things calmed down in the third, Roselle only outscoring Patrick 14-12.
Every shot seemed to fall for both teams in the fourth. Patrick took a 28-26 advantage in the final quarter, but the Celtics could not catch Roselle, who won the game 79-61.
Roselle’s Isaiah Briscoe led all players in scoring with 22 points. The senior guard was on fire with his free throws, scoring 15 of his 22 from the foul line. Junior Matt Bullock added on 15 points and senior Tahir Pretlow contributed another 11, nine of with came from beyond the arc.
Now 13-2, Roselle currently sits at 4th in the DigitalSports National Basketball Rankings and 1st in New Jersey.
The Lions are now preparing for their next clash against Linden, one of the teams who defeated Roselle earlier this season. The two teams go head-to-head on January 31.
